mISSION

Our mission is to support and fund high-quality research into Marfan Syndrome while raising awareness throughout Ireland. The research carried out from our funding aims to ensure earlier diagnosis, improved understanding, and better long-term outcomes for individuals and families affected by this rare genetic condition. We also aim to provide accessible, reliable information and to strengthen community support for those living with Marfan Syndrome.

VISION

Our vision is a future where Marfan Syndrome is better understood, more easily diagnosed, and ultimately treated more effectively. We strive for an Ireland where individuals with Marfan Syndrome can live full, healthy lives supported by strong medical knowledge, research innovation, and an informed community.

Funds

Funds raised by the Marfans Research Foundation Ireland go directly towards supporting research projects, promoting awareness, and providing reliable information to families and healthcare professionals.

We focus on investing in research that advances understanding of Marfan Syndrome and contributes to improved diagnosis, management, and long-term care. All funds are managed with transparency and used to benefit those affected across Ireland.

cOMMITTEE mEMBERS

Marfans Research Foundation originated in the Kilmacow area in County Kilkenny. It was set up by family and friends of the McGrath family – who are directly affected by Marfan Syndrome. Marfans Research Foundation was set up to raise funds for research on the cause and treatment of Marfan Syndrome and also to raise awareness of this condition.

The Marfans Research Foundation Ireland is run entirely by volunteers dedicated to supporting families and advancing research.
